Howdy,

I'm Angela.
I like building things 0-1.

I’m a designer, engineer, and entrepreneur driven by humans and our propensity for connection, and fascinated by how AI can augment that today. I love building and launching products. I started creating as a kid— and ever since, I've always striven to invent things that are both-parts impactful and delightful. I like to think through storytelling and building, much like the building blocks of my custom Monument Valley inspired illustration here.

Currently, driving emerging AI experiences at Meta (the team behind real-time translation, AI glasses, multimodal proactive AI, and more 🤫) and advising startups in the space. Previously, founded a YC-backed AI productivity startup and built up responsible AI at Microsoft. Based in Seattle & SF 🌁.

Designer. Engineer. Founder.

01. About Me

From the doodles that covered the walls of my childhood room to the prototypes that fill my computer screen today, I've always loved creating things. Whether it be driving novel 0-1 experiences at Meta AI, founding a YC-backed AI productivity platform, advising startups in the space, or launching responsible AI experiences at Microsoft — I've made it my goal to explore how AI can better the human experience, which is why I'm committed to responsible AGI.

I'm often leveraging the natural tension between design and engineering to build impactful things — in particular new solutions to age-old problems, which is precisely why I founded Needl, a new way to work that's both unified and intelligent, powered by AI. I care deeply about crafting delightful, human-centric experiences to empower folks in their daily lives. I build for customers humans.

Before these ventures, I conducted adversarial ML research on defending against deepfakes, designed 0-1 experiences for early-stage startups, and organized local hackathons in Chicago and Seattle. And before that, I founded an independent design and art studio, stemming from my first job as a curatorial intern at a contemporary art museum in Texas where I (fun fact!) grew up.

When I'm not on Figma or VS Code, you can probably find me exploring the PNW on 35mm 🎞️, attempting to live sustainably, updating the only platform I'm actually on these days (+ Strava 🏊), raving about Lang's latest design, gushing about some random plant or flower I spotted 🌲, or cooking a lil too much (my love language).
